"Excellent location with just a short walk into city centre beside the beautiful river. The hotel was undergoing some major maintenance work, however, it was clean and comfortable with excellent room facilities. All staff members were friendly and helpful. Great breakfast with plenty of choices. Would definitely stay again, however we would avoid the pub attached to the hotel called ‘The Bear’ which was very run down (ripped seats, broken chairs) and served the worst food we have ever eaten in a restaurant!"

"The hotel was beautifully presented, though advance notice of the building works would have been appreciated. Our room (#6) was excellent except it had low beams and was approached by a steep staircase with narrow steps. Staff were very welcoming and helpful, and restaurant was also very good quality and value"
