"I have now stayed here twice. The first stay was a couple of years ago and it was terrific. Everything you might want. My most recent stay felt like a different hotel. Getting into the room was fine, but once in the room, we noticed some little things. Windows all had residue, cobwebs on the balcony furniture etc. We were told on check in that a room turnover cleaning service would happen once during our 5 night stay which perfectly fine. I called after 2 nights to request cleaning service, but returned that evening to no difference. I called again and was told our room was listed as cleaned, but our set of towels and soaps still remained where we left them. We were brought a fresh set of bath towels but nothing else, leaving us without bath mat, hand towels or face washers. This felt strange. Finally, not the hotels fault here, but a guest on our floor decided the entire first 2 days of our trip would be accompanied by her screaming in another language at the top of her lungs. Very, very weird. Could hear it through their door and into the bedroom of our suite. Hopefully the hotel is just having a down week."

"Overall, considering the Novotel name, the hotel feels more like a 2-star property. The location is good and the staff are especially nice, but the room condition is very poor—it’s an old and outdated hotel."

"Friendly hotel, lovely staff, great location. Tram outside & bus stop very close. Beach a short walk. Nice room but in desperate need of repair. Rusty bolt on the balcony door, could hardly open it. Shower screen was terribly mouldy. Beautiful pool but not enough sunbeds, yet space for more. Sunbeds uncomfortable. The fight for a sunbed ruined experience. Pool needs accessible toilets, as you had to dry off to walk through the lobby which was cold. The other toilets were down concrete steps to gym which was cold, desolate & unnerving. Palm trees need maintenance as branches falling. Good food service around pool. Unfortunately, kids & adults would slap pool noodles against the water, leading to loud, firework type noise that resonated throughout whole area. Loud & painful on ears. People were playing ball games, across the pool, which is horrible for those trying to swim/relax. Maybe the best thing would be to not provide the noodles at all. They need signs stating no ball games/slapping pool noodles onto the pool surface. There were small children, as young as about 6, jumping around in the spa, unsupervised. The hotel was very cold inside which was particularly unpleasant in the restaurant at night. We only ate there once because of this but the restaurant food was lovely. We paid for 3 people to stay & they only included breakfast for 2! Love to go back as hotel a lovely feel, & staff wonderful, but would want relaxing pool time, & no mould in bathroom."

"The room is always cleaned, which is excellent. The staff are helpful and courteous I did not try the breakfast Beach view was not as i was expecting from where I was booked, I thought it will be fronting the beach itself, but anyway it was my first time if Surfers Paradise, so I did not know much. But overall it is ok."

"The apartment was a great size and had everything we needed. Location was perfect. The pool area was lovely and the pool kiosk was great! My only negatives are that there is currently a massive building site next door and they start noisy works at 6:30am every day so no sleep ins! Also, eat breakfast at the pool kiosk and not the indoor restaurant because it was very average for the cost. "
