"Amazing grounds and facilities, the spa is lovely, great thermal suite. Lovely room but small for a superior room, I feel a standard room would have been just the same or maybe bigger, not worth upgrading to a superior for complimentary water, which was a 330ml carton between 2. Some Maintainance issues need attention like broken tiles in the spa showers. The staff in the spa and reception were attentive, friendly and helpful. The breakfast and bar team lacked attention to detail and warmth, for example we entered the breakfast room and were just shown to a table, not asked if we had stayed before…we hadnt! We found our own way round, we weren’t asked if we would like any of the breakfast upgrade items that we read about on the table. The same team were on in the bar when we went for coffee not helpful when we asked about the rewards etc that we had. "

"Staff were delightful and keen to help. 2 night stay and would have given a much better rating if shower on first morning wasn't cold. Expected problem to be solved after informing staff but tepid shower only just usable next day. Four coat hooks and no wardrobe. Plus points staff, food, car parking, comfortable bed with lovely linen, quiet room and excellent WiFi. Easy stroll to river and town centre It is a low cost hotel so one has to accept compromise however hot water problem not acceptable. Shame really"

"The room was nice enough despite having a toilet seat that wasn’t attached however the entire experience was ruined by something small and trivial. The room was booked for me as I look to get our sales team a new hotel as a regular base and we are only looking at hotels with gym/pool. After a five hour drive arriving at 8pm I just fancied a quick thirty mins sauna and was told that despite it only being open till 9 I’d have to pay a £5 charge. No where on the website did it say this and my email confirmation had nothing about it. They even have a flyer for the spa on reception saying hotel guests should go enjoy it and zero mention of cost. I’d expect to pay for treatments of course but not a swim and a sauna in a hotel that advertises having one. Reception staff were great to be fair and room was clean and decent size "

"Think Faulty Towers and you won’t be disappointed. The reception staff run the bar and everything- absolutely lovely. However, keys given to other guests ( walking in whilst a guest was in bed- totally unacceptable) No working radiators, yet showers scolding hot, freezing cold rooms - used towels for extra warmth, rooms offered to our elderly party down the metal fire escape stairwell - we refused, no working lift. For the price we paid - it’s reflected in facilities. Spotless rooms and lovely staff that tried hard. "

"Everything was fine. Good quality bacon for breakfast. Room spacious and clean. Only issue was that soap in shower had run low and did not flow into hand"

"Hotel was reasonably priced for a reason. Room was spacious and comfortable but a little tired. Nice quiet location though, so had a good night sleep. Breakfast was a disappointment, best leave it at that. I would consider staying again, easy parking, good location and certainly good value for money compared to other options on this occasion. "

"Beautiful wee place above a pub. The food in the pub was amazing. Would go again just for the food. Staff very friendly. No parking at the hotel. Only a few minutes away by car but a steep hill back up to the hotel with bags. Overall loved it"

"The lift was out of use which was not ideal. My guest struggles to walk after smashing her ankle last May and we were on the top floor. The receptionist did move us to floor two but we arrived Friday and left Sunday - but the lift was still out of order. The rooms were clean. And breakfast was good. "
