Firstly the staff, oh they were lovely and welcoming, friendly and approachable. We parked in the carpark ok so that was good. Our room was at the back and the view was of the gardens, full of bluebells and plants. Nice big bathroom with a bath, a shower and a bidet. Nice clean big towels. Clean room and hot radiator. Tv and Kettle. I wish there was a plug socket at the sides of the bed as it’s helpful to be able to look at phone for the time. Would I stay again? Definitely yes

The first room we were given was dirty and had mould but we were quickly moved to another room which was clean. The rooms were not soundproof as advertised and didn't look the same as they were advertised. The staff were very friendly and helpful. For a short stay it's not too bad, however not sure I'd recomend for a long stay. Make sure to bring shampoo etc and a hairdryer as our room didn't have them although I'm sure this could potentially have been rectified if we had asked.

A nice room. Bed was relatively comfy, the shower was lovely. A stain on the curtains, but that shouldn’t take away from the fact it was a nice stay. A smart TV with plenty of channels was good. Would’ve been nice to have soap and shower gel/conditioner provided. A special mention for the staff. They were exceptional, very friendly.

The location was great and everything was nearby either walking or few minutes driving to Cardiff city centre. The property it self is the worst placed i have ever stayed. Some of the staff were really polite and helpful to resolve the issues and make your stay pleasant. The roo. I stayed was cleaned but there were not a single hook in bathroom to hang towels. During my stay, we didn't get hot water at all Turned out the boiler was broken but we weren't been informed to offered to change room till the last night when we were going to check out next day. Thanks to the member of staff who offered us room to take shower. The worst thing is during our stay first two nights it was very noisy and fighting couples even my son was scared. I think staff did take action and the last night was peaceful. Due to squeaking floor any one one walks in the room above us it makes noice and we can hear the conversation. It says on the hotel.com that this hotel have restaurant but looks like it is closed now. It was good that we had highstreet nearby which helped us to get food sorted. So in short location was good, hotel was economical but will never stay again. Staff were making all effort to make it work withe their good service.

Room was ok, good value for a price. Clean and tidy. Staff very nice. Unfortunately very thin walls and next door neighbour didn't let us sleep due to watching tv very loud till 3am. We informed staff and they promised to go and knock to his door, but I am not sure if they did, and othing changed. Other than that it would be a good stay, they even provided us with a mini fridge which my daughter needed for her medicaments, and this was great help. So overall hitel is good, if you are lucky to the other guests

Shame really, the staff were super friendly and helpful, but the building and facilities are tired and in sore need of updating. The room was clean but the bed uncomfortable and springy, pillows were flat. It would be really good value for money if you got a good night's sleep, but sadly the matress was not co-operating. We will be visiting Barry often on family matters, and would love to have found a nice place to stopover, but uncomfortable beds aren't worth it. Sadly we'll not be staying again.

Poor parking area. Poor bar. Very poor external decor. We were not warned that an engagement party was on Saturday and they did not have their own bra but their function room would be using the hotel bar. So it meant we had to go out for a drink elsewhere.

The mattress was dreadful. Every spring could be felt and creaked and groaned. I asked to be moved and was put into a room with a better mattress. With a spare duvet on top the mattress in 2nd room was comfortable. There was a huge radiator in bathroom which couldn't be turned off. Bathroom was like a sauna. Well kept foyer which smelt fresh until staff came in smelling of stale cigarette smoke. Room was clean and freshly painted. Carpets in rooms and hallway looked new . As long as you have a decent mattress this hotel is good value , clean and quiet .

Shower didn’t work. Rooms too hot. No isy guest at 1am failing to open his door because his missus locked him out. Shame as I’ve stayed a few times before but this time it felt tired and dirty.
