Gorgeous location, friendly and helpful staff, and we loved the outdoor hot tubs! The spa downstairs is lovely, and the breakfast was also very good. The one downside was in the bathroom it was an open shower with no lip or raised area, so the whole floor got wet. As downsides go it was minor. This is a great location for reaching Diamond Beach/Jökulsárlón.

Hotel feels deluxe, and is overall a good experience. However, some things are advertised better than they are. 1. What they frame as "room with mountain view" is more a room with view to the parking lot, and half frosted windows not to let people outside look in. 2. Spa area is not up to par with other (even cheaper) hotels, sadly. 2 outdoor warm pools and an indoor sauna with no view (even though its up against an ocean-facing outer wall).
