Great location for the shops and restaurants, room clean and tidy, didn’t have very much interaction with staff apart from checking in, very pleasant lady and gave us information about the hotel, the only thing that lets the hotel down is the the common areas and stairways are very tired and some areas the carpet is very worn, but this wouldn’t stop us staying in the future

Staff were friendly, its in a good place, bedrooms were clean, but overall it's very rundown. Threadbare carpets, musty smell in corridors ETC. But this reflected in price. No breakfast option, but Cafe on the cop over road was a good place to go.

The location is excellent - everything within easy walking distance. Excellent parking for guests too. Hotel itself is very tired and clearly needs a lot of work, it’s a very old building full of character but rooms could do with a revamp. Having said that the rooms are spacious, clean and warm. There’s plenty of hot water and decent showers and linens are good quality and clean. The windows are single glazed (due to age of building) therefore can be a bit noisy - we took ear plugs which solved that problem. Go with the right attitude and appreciate you’re in a historic building and you will enjoy your stay.
