Rather than choose one of the national chain hotels, we wanted a hotel that exuded authentic New Orleans charm. The Hotel St. Marie certainly fit the bill. We stayed in one of the double queen rooms looking out over the courtyard and pool. It was large, clean, and serene. Even with the noise from revelers on nearby Bourbon St., the room was very quiet at night. Overall, we were very pleased with the hotel and would recommend it to friends and family looking for a fun New Orleans getaway.

The hotel valet is parking is easy and it’s 24/7 access. The hotel is run down but decent and clean. The room is a big enough size. I got the two double room with balcony. Balcony is small but it worked for my partner and me. If you want to save some money and stay in a clean room book this hotel. I will most likely not stay here again because of the small bathroom. I’m claustrophobic and the small bathroom made me feel uncomfortable. So if you are claustrophobic don’t stay here. I will say this the staff is excellent they perform high in customer service. The valet is fast housekeeping gave me what I needed. Front desk helped me as well when I needed some things.

We were greeted promptly when we arrived by the valet to dispose of our vehicle. You definitely want to shed that as soon as you arrive in the French Quarter! We were there a good 3 hours before check-in so we left to start exploring after unloading our luggage to be stored. We were gone from the hotel for about 30 minutes when we got the text that our room was ready. The hotel room was a decent size with walk-in shower and the bed was comfortable. There is a small fridge, but no microwave in the room. The hotel has a nice courtyard and pool. We’d go sit out in the courtyard and have a beverage before heading out for sightseeing/meals. The hotel is just a block off bourbon and very convenient. They do have a little cafe on site for some breakfast and coffee in the morning. There’s also a bar that opens at 3:00 with a happy hour from 3-6. All of the staff were very friendly and made a point to engage us each time we came through the lobby. Would stay again if we come back to New Orleans.

I didn’t stay at this location. I had a medical emergency and was admitted the hospital therefore was unable to make the trip. I cancelled more than 24 hours prior but they wouldn’t accommodate and refund the cost. That is extremely unfortunate.

Perfect location if you want to be close to Bourbon Street. If you want a great balcony on the street , it may be loud at night. If you want it more quiet, get a balcony on the poolside. Nice hotel!
