The Ocean Waterpark is a vast complex of aquatic-themed attractions set inside Yeosu’s sprawling Ocean Resort. Featuring all-manner of water slides, surf pools, spas, and saunas, the venue includes both indoor and outdoor pools for year-round slippery fun.

The park’s stunning coastal location allows for wonderful views of Dadohaesang National Marine Park. There’s also a therapy room and a cafeteria onsite, meaning you don’t have to get wet to enjoy your visit. Some of the highlights include the artificial wave machine, the 9-storm surf pool, and, for anyone brave enough, the mighty double tornado slide.

3. Geomundo Island

It takes about 2 hours to arrive at Geomundo Island by boat, which runs twice a day from Yeosu. Built based on the legend of a mermaid who saves fishermen from typhoons, Geomundo’s Mermaid Marine Park is refreshing with blue water and green grass.

The Noksan Lighthouse, visible from here, is an unmanned lighthouse that serves as a guide to surrounding islands. Geomundo Island, designated as part of the Dadohae Marine Park, has so many charms that it is impossible to see them all in 1 day.

4. Bangjukpo Beach

Although Bangjukpo Beach is not large, the water depth is shallow, so you can enjoy playing in the water with your children with confidence. There are lifesavers on duty, the showers are great, and the water is clear.

There is a dense pine forest behind the beach, so you can cool off by sitting on a mat under the shade on a hot summer day. Yeosu Gaetgagil, which starts from Bangjukpo Beach, is a promenade where you can walk through a pine forest while looking at the sea and feeling a sense of healing.

The Yeosu Marine Cable Car is a convenient means of transportation to Odongdo Island and Dolsan Park. It’s the incredible views over the sea, both at day and night, that make it such a special form of transport.

Each stop of the Yeosu Marine Cable Car has a beautiful night view, so the waiting time tends to increase in the evening. You can also enjoy looking out from the 3rd floor of the aerial cableway boarding building in Dolsan Park, so consider a visit even if you do not take the aerial cableway.

Yeosu Ocean Rail Bike is an enjoyable tourist attraction where passengers ride pedal-powered carts along a breathtaking stretch of coastal rail. The 2.2-mile track meanders across the picturesque scenery, taking in unforgettable views of Odongdo Island and the South Sea.

The charming little rail carts fit 4 passengers each, so small groups and families can comfortably enjoy the ride together. The route takes visitors through an atmospheric LED-lit tunnel as it traverses the rocky coastline, and the dramatic vistas are famed for their colorful seasonal variations. When you get off at Yeosu Expo Station, you can see the entrance to the Yeosu World Expo right across from it, which is still being used as a park where visitors can relax and enjoy themselves.

The Big O, installed over the night sea in Yeosu, famous for its beauty, presents a colorful fountain show every evening from April to November. However, some facilities on the site of the marine park, including the Big O and the Sky Tower, charge a fee, so it is better to check in advance.

9. Angel Mural Village

Angel Mural Village is located on the hills of Goso-dong and overlooks Yeosu and the sea. Divided into 9 zones, each with its own unique theme, there is a wide variety of public art on display. You can even see murals of Tazza and Sikgaek, 2 works by manhwa (comic book) artist Huh Young-man, a Yeosu native.

Climb to the top of the village where glimpses of old Yeosu can still be seen, and you’ll end up at Opodae, which offers a panoramic view of Yeosu. Angel Mural Village is popular with younger crowds thanks to the numerous photo spots and charming cafes. The area is bigger than it seems, so plan your visit well in advance.
