Staffs were very helpful and friendly. We booked our room with half board and the food was very delicious and good quality. We loved the location as the lake was right in front of the hotel and the Mt Fuji is right in the back of our hotel.

6/10 Good

The staff was great, the location is just in front of the lake, however the property needs to be updated, carpet and cealings looks old and in some places seems to fall apart. They don't add the water at the room which we are used to have in Japan, we needed to ask for tówels and to make us our beds, which was an experience as we literally slept on the floor, something that we didn't know when we booked. Doors lock is also old and my friend says dificult to lock from the inside. It was I may say an unexpected Japanese experience including the breakfast, a nice experience after all.

This is an amazing little hidden gem! We will absolutely be back on our next trip to Fujikawaguchiko. Yes, the hotel is showing its age a little, and I mean only a little, but you’re there for a classic ryokan so it’s part of the experience. The staff are amazing and the hotel has fantastic amenities. They provide a shuttle to and from Kawaguchiko Station, public and private onsen baths, and an amazing view of Fuji-san from the rooftop deck. On top of that, the kaseki dinner and breakfast are spectacular. The food is excellent, plus we were served in our own private room within the restaurant, with a lovely view of the lake. We can’t say enough good things about this hotel! I’ve honestly never left a hotel review before and probably never will again, but this place is worth it. Hoping this draws attention to this hidden gem, to keep it running until we’re able to come back. Too many places like this are bought up by big hotel chains and lose their charm. Arigato gozaimasu, Lakeland Hotel Mizunosato!!!
