A traditional hotel stay in a great location in Birdlip, right next to the Cotswold Way. There is a really pleasant walk direct from the car park around fields or through some woodland next to the Cotswold way that offers incredible views towards Gloucester. The room itself was fine, with some aspects requiring some modernisation, as some areas around the property could do with some maintenance and a refresh. However, I always like to stay here as the food is good and staff friendly enough. Overall recommended.

Only stayed for one night. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Room was spacious with a comfortable bed, double wardrobe with plenty storage if staying longer. The bar area had a warm cosy atmosphere, there was a singer on who was very good. Would stay here again.

Plenty of parking and decent bar area, room was clean but with marks on curtains and few touch ups on the wall poorly done. Mattress was very uncomfortable, springs pushing through and tendency to fold toward middle of bed, otherwise great staff, very friendly

A great spot to enjoy some of the Cotswolds Way. Massive comfy bed and strong shower, although a bit let down by an old bath and cheap, clingy shower curtain. Nice bar area, friendly staff, and OK food. Good value breakfast, as you get continental plus a hot menu included. However, the full English I had was below par (definitely seemed pre-prepared rather than freshly made), but some of the other items looked better.

First when we booked we did for bed & breakfast and when we got there they said it was room only which was not what we expected. So we decided to have breakfast there but because nobody was staying on a bed & breakfast basis they didn’t do breakfast but just a brunch which was very disappointing. We also had booked a table for dinner on Friday night and was very disappointed with the food and service. The other problem was in the room. There were only two electrical plugs which were being used Vdog the TV and kettle. They supplied a fan but there was nowhere to plug it in by the bed or anywhere to charge our phones. Again very disappointing. We did manage by crawling on the floor and swapping plugs backwards and forwards, by don’t expect to do that.

Great stay, excellent breakfast and parking accessible (even though some guests decide to not park in a authorised space). The only issue in my room 19 was the radiator was on full, and no way of turning down, so had to open windows and then road noise kept waking me. I did enjoy my stay though.

Stayed for two nights, room was clean staff very friendly, only down point WiFi very shocking could not get access at all, and as I needed this for work very disappointing, was told it’s because we are in an urban area. Really!!!!!!!!!!
