The hotel is relatively old, the rooms are large, the furnishings are old, the ground and lounge chairs in the balcony and garden are not clean, especially some outdoor grounds have many fallen leaves that have not been swept. It makes walking inconvenient, especially not conducive to the elderly. In short, the sanitary conditions are poor and the breakfast is too simple. It is convenient to travel, and you can walk to downtown and Fisherman's Wharf in a few minutes.

My wife was thrilled. Spacious and quiet room. Charming! Great bed and linens. Windows and balcony. Breakfast about the same in Marriott hotel, etc. Externally might use a little sprucing. 2/3 the cost of Marriott and way more personal and delightful.

Very noisy room on the road and by the ice machine. Shutters didn't close properly so also very light in the morning. Daughter's sofa bed wasn't made so we had to make it ourselves after asking twice for extra sheets. The hotel didn't have any extra comforters/duvets for my daughter either. Bath plug was broken so couldn't use the bath and toilet kept filling up very loudly all night. Great location for exploring Monterey though, with affordable parking.

Arrived for a 1 night stay. Staff seemed stand-offish. Transactional interaction. No interest in creating a connection. We opted for a first floor room due to having a small baby. Room was decent. Bathroom seemed dated rusty air vents. Tv did not work, called the front desk twice. First ring they did not answer. I called at 8pm. Answered 20 mins later. No apology, another transactional interaction. I considered booking an Airbnb. I booked the hotel hoping for a great stay. With hotel amenities and great staff. Wish I would have just booked an Airbnb for the price.

For a suite hotel, the room was not as clean as it could have been. There were hand smudge prints on the walls and furniture was kinda dirty. Bathroom could have been cleaner. Grout was dirty on multiple spots. Unfortunately the elevators were out so 3 flights of stairs, with dry rot on the steps was disappointing to see. Parking garage is very tight, with medium to large vehicles. 400 rooms numbers are on the top level and have the vaulted ceilings, as compared to the lower level suits. Bathroom was the highlight, shower was adequate size. The bath tub was a deep tub so it was nice for soaking. Bed was very soft and comfortable to sleep.

We arrived late with a genuine emergency — my wife had food poisoning, I had two small children in tow, and I needed to get everyone into a room as quickly as possible. The young woman at the front desk never once made eye contact while I explained the situation. No urgency, no empathy, nothing. Then she assigned us a fourth-floor room on the side of the hotel with a broken elevator. I had to get my sick wife up four flights of stairs, wrangle two small kids, and haul every piece of luggage myself — no cart, no elevator, no offer of help. And those stairs? Pieces of steps were missing with old rusty nails exposed. I was navigating this with two small children and a sick wife in tow. It was a safety hazard, plain and simple. The next morning, the same employee was at the desk. I asked for additional towels — a reasonable request for a room sleeping four people. She smiled and said, "No worries, I'll send them right up." They never came. We returned after a full day out and still had no towels. I had to call down a second time just to get something that should have been standard from the start. There are bad days, and then there are systemic failures in basic hospitality. Staff indifference during a family emergency, a structural safety hazard that could have seriously injured my children, and a follow-through problem that required two requests for extra towels — I won't be back, and I'd encourage families especially to look elsewhere.

The feont desk person didnt tell us how to get to our room, I had to ask. She said tuen left and take the stairs up. We has to ask a second time. The real direction that should have been shared is tuen left walk a 10p yards thepugh the garage and the stairs will be on the right. The key cards didn't work and had ro walk back. Had to ask for the wifi code later that night. Then its given with a map of the hotel. This should have been given in the beginning.

The only bad thing that makes me not like my stay was the cleaning people going back and forth with their loud carts when me and my kids try to take a nap we couldn't cause it was so loud and the walls are thin I could hear everything upstairs and outside...other than that staff was amazing and hotel clean just noisy

Black mold was growing in bathroom, coffee maker not working, causing water to spill all over. Iron broke and not functional. Carpet was very dirty. Breakfast was average and not restocked once the popular items were gone. Love the location, but the hotel needs major improvement.
