I was a little Leary driving into the lodge, especially once I was on the gravel road, but I have to say, my stay was one of the best experiences I had. From the beautiful pool, fantastic restaurant, and the best star gazing of my life. Everyone at the lodge was terrific, very friendly and accommodating. Thank you…. I can’t wait to come back, as it was also great proximity to Big Bend!

Overall, the stay was great. Unexpected amenities like a full small pot coffee maker v. a single serve was welcomed along with the filtered water dispenser and of course the on-site cafe. It was difficult to get to after a torrential rainstorm blew through the area, but with patience and grit, we made it. These small extras definitely helped! The place was clean and there was plenty of room for us two.

Definitely off the beaten path, which is what we enjoy. We woke up to no electric on our second morning, which was tough but fine. They have a small cafe on site, Terlingua for any other food is 30miles away, so arriving in the evening, the cafe was a great option. The pool was open an looked clean, but was temps were not in our favor to enjoy it. Nice property and very friendly staff.

Property was good with pets. Rooms clean. Didnt have specific equipment as advertised like 2 burner stove and cooking equipment. Nice views. Staff was very friendly and tried to accomdate when our AC went out.

Well it's the greatest dark sky we've ever seen. The star is twinkle late at night and put smiles and tears in our eyes. The pool was beautiful and particularly after a long hike at Big Bend national Park. At the same time we were lucky that Our Neighbor's dog did not bark because there was no insulation in the walls. Thank God there was a restaurant because nothing is close. And our server Beau and chef Phil was over the top. On the road there we did see Havelina's.

Lovely setting. Staff so nice. However it is way out of town (@ 25-30 miles) and requires a dark unpaved road of 3 miles to get there. No coffee pot or fridge. Reastaurant is good.

While the drive to get to the lodge was a bit more than we expected (we knew it was a rock road, just didn't realize how bumpy and washboard like it would be), we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at the lodge. The restaurant on site was delicious, the pool was ice cold, and the rooms were comfortable and clean.

Very out of the way as others have said, but plenty of amenities. Clean, comfortable beds and AC. Fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. However no hair dryer (brought my own). I did mention to the front desk that the tub was extremely slippery. They have no bath mats, sticky pads or grab bar so I felt that was a safety issue which they said they would address. Food was great as well.

Nice place. The washboard road coming to and from the ranch was a pain!! Wonderfully quiet outside. Cabin 58 was great with a water dispenser and coffee maker. Cabin 43 had neither.
