Great location and beautiful view in front of the pier. Bathroom was the best thing in the room, can tell that it has been renovated. Much room for improvement on housekeeping and the rest of the room, such as windows and cleaniness of appliances like hairdryer and kettle. Fair deal in terms of what we paid. At the same time, I can understand the mixed reviews.

A nice and economical place to stay

A grand seaside hotel with efficient service, popular bar and restaurant. Though facilities may be old e.g the lifts, yet they are well maintained. Entrance hall and lounge galleries are huge, relaxing, and comfortable.

Great location! Right by the beach & a few restaurants around the corner. My only complaint really is the lack of amenities - little things like no fridge or microwave in the room, no ice machine in the hotel, no fan/ac - it was very warm in the room and I had to open the window, but the windows do not have screens so a few bugs flew into the room. And the water pressure in the shower was very poor - the bathroom sink had better water pressure than the shower. I was only there 2 nights so it was fine overall, but for longer stays I’d probably look for something with better amenities.

The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean although quite basic. Breakfast was really good with a big choice available. We had a very enjoyable stay and the only reason I marked it down was due to the hotel looking tired in different areas and could do with a refresh.

We enjoyed our stay we got free upgraded room Due to one allocated was very small and dark and view fire exit stair case , I went to reception and they gave me 3 other rooms to choose from which was good, breakfast think they should give you options to choose items you need as I can’t eat very much due to medical condition. Think they should stop smoking rooms as corridor was very strong of smoke and made my dad stressed due to him having to keep taking his medical pump . I didn’t take staff name that changed our room but was very polite .

We have stopped here many times and it remains excellent value for money. Sure, its an old hotel, that gives charactervand charm, the staff are really good, friendly snd hrlpful. The rooms are clean, presentable and good value. The breakfast has everything you could possibly want. Location is excellent, on the sea front, central and has its own parking, charged atba very reasonable rate. Highly recommended, value for money hotel. The reception area was welcoming. We were upgraded from a standard room overlooking the beach - I would hate to see what the standard room looked like. Our room was clean but very out-dated and tired looking. The shower cubicle was surrounded by mould and the bathroom windows could not open. As you looked out of the window all you saw was bird muck everywhere. The windows were single glazed so you heard everything outside. The breakfast was self service and okay. If you are vegetarian you had to order your sausages. The coffee was good and the staff were very friendly.

Had a lovely week away, hotel was a bit dated but that’s what you get in a period property. Our room was very spacious with a great sea view. Breakfast was really good with a lot of choice.

Very nice breakfast. Excellent staff. Super location opposite beach. Furniture rather too big for the room, making it awkward to get around, and TV at an angle that gave my neck a crick, but these were minor inconveniences, as everything else was excellent.
